Looking for advice for new AMP & Preamp - Seperates or Integrated.

I'm in the market for a new amp, and preamp. It doesn't have to be separates either, if it's good. I was a hardcore Audiophile up to 10 years ago, and I have not bought anything since. I just took my old Quad 405-2 out, and it's not working that well, so I may fix that as well. I've always been interested in Macintosh equipment, that anyone here may suggest. I got rid of my Apogee Centaurs Minors a few years back, so I will be getting new speakers as well, in about a month. I'm using some old Polk's for now. Does anyone have any good suggestions for around $1000 for good Mac equipment?
