There's a bit of a discrepancy on the code vs type.
This is part of the standard "Philips" code for all their tubes (Philips was the owner of Amperex, Valvo, Mullard, etc). The 7L is their standard code for 6922/E88CC. VR is the standard code for the 7308/E188CC.
The G after the 7L is the version (sometimes a number, sometimes a letter). The 3 or 4-number-letter code after the 7LG gives place of manufacture, and date.
I'd be guessing that the tube you have is a E88CC rather than an E188CC, but I have many tubes in my collection (mainly Philips-type) with inconsistent codes.
If you do a search, you should find guides for Philips Tube Codes.
