If you check the essential characteristics, a triode strapped 6J7 is almost exactly the same as a 6C5. I've examined the innards of a couple of 6C5GTs closely and even though advertised as a triode, g2 was present. The 6J5 is similar enough to the 6C5 that the two are interchangeable in nearly all audio apps.
