I tested the Siemens and they tested NOS and are still very balanced. Cleaned the pins and A/B'ed them against the Tesla's using the Wallflowers "Bring Down The Horse" & Steely Dan "Everything Must Go". Two selections that I'm intimately familiar with.

The Siemens clearly are superior, better air, the highs are crystalline, the mids a little forward and the bass tighter and faster. The soundstage was also larger and more 3 Dimensional with the Siemens'. Both are dead quiet with the Tesla's more pronounced in the highs and not as forceful in the bass.

I guess first impressions aren't alway correct. That said, I just bought a NIB pair Amperex 6922 PQ's just to confuse things even more. I guess I have a lifetime of 6922/ECC88/E288CC's for my CDP
