I would not claim to know much about tubes. Just enough of what I use to get by . In fact I bought some of the Chinese "Phillips Ecg 6ca7/EL34" on epay just after i had built my first amp. I bought two quads. One tube made some strange noise when it was warming up,then it was fine. So I plugged in another and all was good. Even now I think they sound alright..and the price was right. I could not justify ,nor afford, NOS.
The point being, I learned more from the purchase than I would have otherwise. I learned to find wher good info could be had,how to read a few codes,and to buy ahd restore/ calibrate my oun tester,thanks to my friend Mike Samra's guidance.
While it is good to point out inaccuracies in listings on ebay ,or anything for that matter,it is not helpful to openly call someone derogeratory names . Any more than saying that anyone living in a city near the Chino Correctional Facility is less than upstanding.
Most people i have known who pubically make such accusations , have some skeletons in their own closet.
The seller made a mistake in his listing and would appear to be regretful for the same. He too, has learned something by this . We all have.
