All genuine Mullard made tubes have a manufacturing code which indicates factory and tube type. This code will not wash away as will the regular markings. Brimar made tubes may or may not have factory codes.
During the 70s 80s 90s many tubes were marked with country of origin NOT country of manufacture by tube sellers. Typically, Russian, German, Japanese, etc, tubes were "rebranded" which makes determining the original manufacturer tricky. regards, Dak
