RE: KT77 to KT66?


I assume has the bias range to handle the change. KT66 and 6L6s in general, need higher bias voltage.

Changing tubes is part of this hobby that is really fun. A new day gets a new sound. Keep on pluggin.

Some time ago I had an amp rigged to bias just about any of the common pentodes or tetrodes. I could also change B+ with rectifier changes. Though I liked the KT66 very much, I liked the RCA (coke bottle) 6L6Gs the best, mostly for a warm and natural midrange.
