Should I use Schottky or Freds in lieu of my Vishay rectifiers?

My Lafayette KT-550 is using 625-GI856-E3 (mouser part number) 3A, 600V Vishay rectifiers. In the circuit above, these are identified as M1, M2, M3, M4 and M5.

Should I consider replacing these rectifiers with Schottky or Freds? Would the PSU circuit benefit from a hash filter?

Your input is appreciated.
