Definitely. I won't deny that at all. I've been known for having to try each and every "equivalent", brand, construction, and vintage of tubes that I use.
The 6386 has been described as a premium or ruggedized 5670. I know that this isn't exactly the case. Lower plate resistance & transconductance, for example. I've also read that the 6386 has a staggered grid.
5670 Dual Triode Tube Data
Being remote cutoff, is it possible that I just like the mu that the 6386's provide with the bias that my preamp gives them? They just sound "fuller", not really drastically different from the 5670's.
