Hi Peter;
I agree with TubeAcolyte, the KT88SC is warm and lively, but I find all KT88s to have a warm (bloated?) upper bass/lower midrange compare to something like a KT66 or 6L6gc.
Another way to warm things up is to use warm driver tubes. For example, if your drivers are 6sn7s, try a grey glass RCA or black glass National Union.
