RE: Genalex Gold Lion 6922

If the same triode is failing each time in the same section of the unit,you could very well have an issue with your phono or line stage..Try cleaning the socket pins but if it keeps this up,you may need to monitor the plate voltage on these tubes..I had this happen on an old Theta tube preamp and what happened was the B+ on the 6922s in the line stage part was running 168volts and it called for less than a 100volts..It turned one that one of the regulators had a collector to emitter short which was letting the full rail voltage pass to the tube.This in turn was dumping those tubes in less than a month and these were Tungsgrams.Your unit does have solid state regulation and one of the regulators could be shorted and yes,they still play with a short unfortunately many times just like the ARC SP3.


EDIT:
This is your unit and it does use regulation and you need to check the voltage on the plates to make sure they are not running high because if they are,that is no doubt the problem.
