I started noticing some deterioration in sound (harshness) and odd behavior (volume drop and vanishing bass). Well, I pulled all the tubes a moment ago looking for anything out of the orginary and noticed one tube where the plates looked as if they were losing their coating. My understanding is that the plates are coated with a reactive element that releases electrons thus creating pressure in the valve. Anyway, I hope someone will comment on these images.
