RE: EL156 in 6550/KT88 gear?

hmm... i feel that the EL156 can not be sooo different from the KT88. i found this statement:

Almost fifty years ago, Telefunken introduced the EL156 as a replacement for KT88. It was used in LP mastering labs to drive cutting lathes. bisassing the EL156 should be very moderate between 25-30 mA as i understand. no problem in my gear.
i just will give them a try...
