I like the GE 3 mica blackplate tubes as well - not as much as the 3 mica blackplate Sylvanias, but they are very good tubes. In Cary gear, they (GE) are the best sounding tube period.

I think guitar players prefer the Sylvania and RCA for the way the tube distorts when pushed hard. The GE does not distort with harmonic richness - but for stereo, they are among the top three or four tubes, depending on the associated gear.
