Your going to have a hard time convincing me. They measure different and they sound different.
Yes, the plates and getters, etc. look the same. So what about the cathode chemistry? What about the grid wire? What about the vacuum level/de-gassing procedures? What about the internal electrode spacing?
From the outside many RCA 12AU7As look exactly the same as some RCA 12AX7As. Does than mean they are the same tube, just labeled differently? Of course not.
The same is true today with the B759 and the 12AX7LPS.
