One is,it is very each to drive.The problem is that the tube came into production in the early to mid 60s and by that time,many companies were starting to switch over to build solid state amplifiers.It was mostly used in industrial applications so it didn't gain a ton of traction like the 6L6gc or EL34 or the 6550/KT88 with the audio and guitar markets..Had it been designed in the mid 50s,it probably would have been used in more mainstream consumer audio applications and someone would be making a replacement today.
Bogen,Quicksilver,Dynaco MK6s and a few others are mainly who used them in hifi audio.
