thx...the tube that was pictured in the seller's ebay ad was labeled a valvo made in holland. the pic was taken at such an angle that a hole could be seen at the bottom of the guide post...and i rightly or wrongly assumed that any rectifier with that hole was a mullard. anywhoo, will test out the '61 blackburn tonight and i will be guarded about dealing with this seller in the future.
