I'm thinking the midrange accent of "reissue" Mullard 'X7s will help "round" things out.
PIO signal caps. outside the NFB loop, to maximize their impact. Perhaps highly transparent polystyrene film and foil parts between the phase splitter and "finals". If all PIO is chosen, definitely use different brands inside and outside the NFB loop. Hear the amp, not the signal capacitors.
BTW, sticking to the clean and quiet Sovtek 12AX7LPS in the phono section is (IMO) the way to go
