Anyway, regarding your post. I doubt that what I'm hearing is a change to the RIAA network because V2 (the middle tube in the phono section) carries that responsibilty. I certainly may be hearing a gain-related effect as the 5751 is significantly lower gain than the tube it replaced, and I could as a result be using a somewhat more linear portion of my volume control with the new tube in place. Can't say for sure, but I do like the results. Sure would have been easier with a tone control (sigh).
