I never have a problem finding NOS vintage 6U8's or 6KD8's when I need them. 6AN8 is another that was common (but with different pinout). These were used in TV sets, so they made large quantities of them. 7199's are gone, unfortunately, but either of these other types can replace them with a wiring change.
