I'm on the Sophia electric mailing list and have had the full music carbon plate on my want list for a while. When they announced that they were coming out with a new kt88 I assumed they were blowing out their old carbon plate models so I jumped for a quad. I was surprised when I opened the boxes and they appeared similar to the sovtek/tungsol kt88. I plugged them in a right away they struck me as smooth sounding. I have been running psvanne mk2 kt88's and out of the box these are a little less extended on top. I would say they are in between the black treasure and the psvanne as far as laid back vs forward sounding. Bass is good, but I think the psvanne has a touch more bass definition. I am running the Randall Museum DIY pp kt88 amps. I have two sets, one with edcor iron and one with heyboer. Price was 400$for the quad.
