Cleantimestream,
I have a drawer full of those green Eby sockets, waiting for a special build someday. I did use a couple of them in a rack mount gheetar amp I built for Billy Gibbons a few years back, still tours with it. It even took a spill off the truck or loading dock, tubes didn't budge. The only problem I've had with those sockets is getting the tube inserted, they are TIGHT. Since I was building guitar amps at the time and wasn't too thrilled with the off shore stuff I called Eby to get a quote on the green ones, $25 each @ 1,000 pieces, that was the end of that. I did manage to find some of the regular Mil-Spec Eby sockets at electronics surplus store, $1.75 each, great sockets.
