Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I have been using different 12ax7's in my modified primaluna prologue2 from tungsram to mullard(nos) and reissue to 3 different other (nos). I tried the goldlion 12ax7 reissue also it was nice but a little slow and soft sounding for my taste. I read many post saying give it a 100+ hrs then judge, I had about 30 hrs on them at the time. So, I put another 75 hrs on them I really didn't expect them to change that much. Holy shit much wider deeper more detail and tighter bass sounds like a completely different tube. I know about the whole break in thing, but why so long with this certain pair of tubes. most tubes need about 40 hrs and they show about 90% of their character. Any thoughts???
