I just don't see a reason to pay fancy prices for imported sockets that may or may not be better. I've pulled tubes out of US amplifiers nearly 50 years old with no signs of corrosion or weakness at the sockets. Whenever I'm tempted to spend more money in this area, I also think about the sockets in all the old tube testers, and how long they've lasted. Some of those have seen hundreds, maybe thousands, of tubes without a failure. Seriously, if it's not broken...
