So, I cant help you with the sound of the Psvane as I've never heard them. I've tried the GL AU7 in my CAT SL1 and it is a very good tube, but ultimately thought the sound was a little thick and slow. I'm starting to sound like a JJ fan-boy, but what I settled on in the CAT was the JJ ECC802s. The gold pin version. Very nice tube. Long plates and spiral heater. Good imaging and excellent intonations. Quite pleased with it and its brother the ECC803s, which I also use in the CAT and CD player.
Have you maybe also considered the RCA Cleartops? Rolled-off on both extremes, but big image and tone to die for.
