I have done this in the past since my amp bias' each tube. I was told it's ok to mix and match and I really liked the sound when I mixed Winged C's with JJ's. As of now I'm a current production Tung Sol fan, for EL34's although I've had the 12ax7's fail or be weak. good luck!
