As long as you can set the bias individually for each tube (so the push/pull pairs draw roughly the same current), there is no problem mixing and matching different EL 34s.
As for what to try for the OP, I suggest the Treasure 6CA7 from China. I actually prefer these to Mullard xf2 in my amp as I find the Mullards a little too full in the midrange for my taste. Have not tried the pricey Pissvein versions. I also like the JJ KT77 which some have had problems with but my quad has been flawless. Cheap to try, less than half the price of the Treasures or the Genelex KT77.
Can you use 6L6gc/ KT66 in your amp? Many prefer these to any EL34. The Russian NOS 6n3c-e is a great sounding tube that is cheap and will work in many EL34 amps.
