RE: Any suggestions on 6V6 upgrades?

NOS Sylvania 7C5's at $8 each, is hard to beat (impossible).

That is a very good buy but NOS 12V6 cost $5 each at RES and you are not limited to just Sylvania's. If you go 12 volts for the output tubes and don't mind using adapters Sylvania 14C5's are $3 each at RES.
