I have a pair of the Pope tubes and in my amp, Decware Mini Torri, they are excellent...so are the new production Tung Sols. The Pope's have a bit more of a vintage sound that is seductive. The TS are cleaner. The new Mullard's look like they are aimed at guitar guys and I have not tried them. The Russian 6V6/6p6s black glass are nice tubes too and they are cheap but take 4 ever to burn in. I have Ken-Rads but good used old production 6v6's are hard to source. The new Gold Lion's are OK but a little bright and at their price point I'd get the Pope's. I prefer the TS to the GL.Are your Tung Sols old production? I actually preferred the new issue to the old production pair I had. There are many variants FWIW.
