You may or may not notice any improvement using KT120's instead of KT88's in your Prologue2. What does Primaluna say about it?
With that said, I spent a good while listening to my friends Atlas Magnum with its original factory installed KT90's, and visited again within the year to help him decide how it sounded with a set of KT120's which, at the time, Rogue had just introduced as upgrades for the original KT90's in this amplifier. He had already been using the KT120's in this amp for over a week and felt they were sufficiently burned-in. We spent an entire weekend listening, swapping tubes, listening again, etc. Both of us chose the KT120's every time! I'm not good with flowery "audiophile reviewer" prose so I'll just say that we found a big improvement in the entire audio spectrum with the KT120's. It sounded less lean, not at all grainy, had a punchy mid-range, and plenty of bass. I can't say anything about the KT88, 'cause we didn't have any to compare. Two years later and my friend still very much prefers his KT120's.
As for me, I ordered a Cronus Magnum with a set of KT120's as soon as I returned from my visit. And I haven't experienced one iota of regret. This amp is staying for a long while.
I hope this helped you, although it just doesn't really address your initial question.
Cheers,
Al
