Hi Guys,

I have a pair of Hyperion HT88 monos and one of the 5Z4 tubes started flickering.

My questions are as follows:

1) Do 5Z4 half wave rectifier tubes have a big impact on the overall sound quality of the amps? If so...what makes should I be looking for? Nothing too expensive....maybe $30 per tube.

2) If I can find the same brand tube...is it ok if I changed just the tube thats flickering? There are 2 of them on each mono.

3) I am after a full and "big sound" with a smooth top end.
