Keep the amp the same and use the 6GU7 = 6 VOLT 12BH7. I love this tube. I have 40-50 6CG7's and I never use them because I like the 6GU7 better. The 6GU7 comes in RCA, Sylvania, Raytheon and GE. They cost $5 per tube and they are a direct sub.
