I actually built my SE amp for EL34s but
after trying many other tubes in it -
I found I preferred anything else over it.
Even the KT77 had no appeal to me.
This is in triode with a 5K OPT.
Favorites are ...
GL KT66 - Dynamic and extended
TS 6L6G - Warm and smooth
Depending on mood and music playing.
