A lot of sellers get tubes in boxes and automatically assume they are NOS (which means "new" old stock, which is different from "vintage", don't get me started).
I don't remember if it was this seller, but I posted a reply (I think in one of your threads) where someone advertised a NOS, NIB KT88 that was a Gold Lion with burned getter spots in a regular GEC box.
At least that particular seller gives a guarantee (which I stopped doing as an Ebay seller because of all the abuse).
The bottom line is look at what you are buying, and if something appears off then pass.
