Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Hi,
Does anyone know if the WE 311A and 311B are interchangeable? From the datasheets, it seems the 311B has higher max plate voltage (200 vs 180) but the recommended voltage for the two tubes is the same (150). Also, the 311B seems to have slightly more power at a similar operating point (2.5 vs 2.0 although I'm not very sure about that).
Here are the datasheets:
311A: http://www.westernelectric.com/spec_sheets/329A.pdf (datasheet is also for 329A)
311B: http://www.westernelectric.com/spec_sheets/311B.pdf
I'm wondering because I'm looking at some Svetlana tubes that are 311A equivalents, and wondering if I can use them instead of 311B.
Thanks!
