I will give that a try.

You know, I think it actually got worse instead of better when I changed out all the octal tube sockets. Maybe I exposed a weak link somewhere.

Oh well. I realize keeping the old stuff going is worth the tinkering.

Good news is I gave it a critical listen last night, and boy, it never sounded better.

May turn out being a well worth trade off.
