Abuse? Maybe in guitar amps. I have a 6V6 audio amp and certain older tubes are very good but the new Tung Sol, Russian black bottle and Shuguang are way up there too. I actually prefer the new issue over run of the mill older tubes. One old production I really like is the Pope/Philips.
