RE: Would a tube preamp help this problem

The preamp's O/P impedance must be under 1000 Ω and the interconnect cables short and low. Easy it's not.

IIRC, the OP is ADAMANT about having a wireless remote control. That pretty well rules an overhauled "vintage" unit out. JMO, a hybrid preamp is what this situation requires. Perhaps AVA can build a custom Transcendence Nine, with buffered line O/Ps. Years ago, they did that sort of thing.
