RE: Would a tube preamp help this problem

I'm just going to make a suggestion.

Try adding a tube output buffer to your C275BEE amp. From what I've read here there's a nice one available for around $200 (Yaquin IIRC).

I have no personal experience with it, but a couple of Inmates seem to really like what it does to the sound quality they're getting from their SS equipment. I think that it's probably worth a try, but as usual YMMV. There's a recent thread about it on AA, so you might perform a search under "tube buffers" so you can find some more info.
