I still remember the VERY-light-duty screwstrip Lux used to attach speakercable. I'll bet the '3045's designer, Tim d'Paravacini, didn't specify those! I also recall that Tim designed the amps around triode-wired KT-88s, but Lux decided to commission a real triode output tube for marketing purposes. Too bad that tube is now unobtanium. Hmm...could they have used 845s?
* This is a sort of public, private joke. My friend was the Technical Director for 'The Absolute Sound' in the mid-'80s. He apparently was about as golden-eared as HP and didn't like the sounds of so much equipment that HP gave him that moniker, publicly.
