Hello inmates I have a Scott LC21 pre- amp that I recently restored.. It has a volume control where you pull the knob to turn on the power.
I have tried many times to spray in some de-ox into the control, but without fail I get a little static at the 3-4 position. There also appears to be a slight volume mismatch on the channels until you pass this same area of the control.
Does anyone know of a good replacement control for this unit? or am I best to just keep trying to find parts or a scrap unit.. I thought maybe a new modern control might be an improvement if possible..
Does anyone have any experience getting these controls back to life if they are removed and dissembled/cleaned? I swear I have a 3 oz of de-ox spray already soaked in the control. The static is not horrible it's just annoying, I got the unit so perfect that just this one nuance bothers me :)
thanks for any help..
J
