The Sovtek 7199 didn't always work as advertised. It seems to be a repined 6BL8 or similar. 6U8s and 6GH8s do seem to work in most apps but they aren't pin compatible. There are adaptors out there but the few I've seen are a bit pricy @ $15-$20. My inclination would be to rewire under chassis permanently for 6GH8 if it were my personal equip.
