Haha, they have sometimes complained. Some are just surprised. Most of my high-volume tests are done in a detached unit, and I wear headgear to protect myself. The 3-cab 400 PS testrun was felt across 15ft of foundation over on each side hahahahaha!
I've learned it's distortion that hurts most and "loud" can depend on the head. Later Marshalls are just bananas and there's no taming their gain; they're always so BAM!-direct. The 67 Superbass, however, is much softer and smoother, far more pleasant in my opinion. Fenders get loud, but are easy to tame at louder volumes thanks to their clean character. You can dual in a TFL5000 cranked to 10 without tons of overpowering distortion. Just don't ask the same out of a BF Bassman lol. Doh! I wanna get decent mic's and record some of this stuff. It's no fun if you can't share it :(
If I had a dream guitar right now, it would be a Reverend PA-1 or something like it in that price range. I wanna toy around with soft jazzy tones :) and also bust out Stray Cats tones!

May your tubes be lively, warm, and long-lasting. Holy be thy heater.
