Went to do some maintenance on my 6BQ5 stereo PP amp today (cleaning tube pins and sockets with a little Deoxit) and found that the getter flash of the phase inverter tubes are discoloured.

This position takes 12au7 types, installed was a pair of Brimar 13D4 that I purchased from a vendor last March. When I installed them they looked like ordinary tubes.

Today I saw that one getter flashing is turning almost an emerald green although mottled. It's even present in the exhaust tip. The second tube is showing signs of going this way, but is not so advanced. Hopefully the pic captures this.

I'm aware that a loss of vacuum can make a getter flashing go whitish, this does not resemble that.

For now I'm going to sub in some EH 12AU7 and see what happens. Has anyone else seen this before ??
