Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Here is my issue.
I have a Audio Space 3i integrated that has a phase splitter tube(12ax7) and 2 signal tubes(12au7's). I find I loose a bit of volume on the left channel. When I push down on the phase splitter tube the volume goes back to normal. I have spread the pins a bit and it tightens the connection for a while. I find by putting a bit of pressure on it the problem goes away.
Since I am disabled, it is difficult to send back a 45 pound amp or change the socket. Is there such a thing as a tube weight or contact cement like Mapletree SilClear that might help the problem? I also notice that there is a small metal pin in the center hole of the phase splitter tube socket bit none in the signal tube sockets. Could that be restricting the contact?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Art
