And high output single coil pups and humbuckers cam be a bit too much clean. Super Reverb maybe a better tone to go after. Nowadays, I run a Keeley modded Tube Screamer TS-9 in front of my TR whenever I use it. The SR gets no pedals, except maybe the Rotary Essemble RT-20, for Leslie Effects. And a touch of MXR.
Really, the GZ34 mated to dual 6L6GC (or 7581A, in your case)... with two X 12-inch or four X 10-inch has all the nice clean, Bluesy tone you'll need. The TR is a bit sterile, IMHO with hot 'buckers on a Gibson.
