Is it true when a dealer says that before changing output tubes in an auto-biased amplifier, I should first bring the amp to a tech in order to optimize it for the newly chosen tubes?
This advice sounds strange to me. If the amp is good and the tubes are strong, there should not be any problems.
On the other hand, if, for instance, the amp is too hard on the output tubes (other than the stock tubes) and we cannot be sure whether it is so or not, isn't it better to follow the dealer's advice and to bring it to a tech?
