But I do remember a page of plate curves for triode-6V6 that showed the curves for positive grid out to about +8V. The tube remained reasonably linear (constant spacing between curves) out to +6V or so. I don't remember where the page was, but it was one of those linked from duncanmps.com. I agree such operation might not be a good idea!
