The I593 code is representative of 1953 or 1954 production. Its the first ever revision of 12AU7/ECC82 tube made by Mullard in the UK. Most likely produced in the Blackburn factory. There should be a distinct letter-number code present below the I593 either ending with 3 or 4. I can sort of partially make it out. Is it B4? If you can confirm this additional part of the code, I can tell you the month and year of manufacture. Excellent sounding tube. Most that turn up test weak. I believe this tube was only designed for its filament to be series heated by current. More information including some reference photos available at the following website link:
