And high output single coil pups and humbuckers can be a bit TOO much clean. Super Reverb maybe a better tone to go after. Nowadays, I run a Keeley modded Tube Screamer TS-9 or my HotBox in front of my TR whenever I use it.The SR gets no pedals, except maybe the Rotary Essemble RT-20, for Leslie Effects. (one day, I'll make that real Leslie). And a touch of MXR.
The GZ34 mated to dual 6L6GC (or 7581A, in your case)... with 2 X 12-inch or 4 X 10-inch cab will have all the nice clean, Bluesy tone you'll need. Plus, that "breathing," live quality only a tube rectifier can give. The TR is a bit sterile, IMHO with hot 'buckers on a Gibson.
